
Mumbai Indians' Tristan Stubbs receives maiden call-up as South Africa announce T20I squad against India

Tristan Stubbs was called up to the Mumbai Indians camp as a replacement for the injured Tymal Mills in the ongoing 2022 IPL.
Mumbai Indians' new recruit Tristan Stubbs has received a maiden international call-up as South Africa announced their T20I squad against India on Tuesday.
India are scheduled to host South Africa for a five-match T20I series at five different venues. Delhi, Cuttack, Vizag, Rajkot, and Bengaluru will host the teams between June 9-19.
Stubbs, the 21-year-old middle-order batter, impressed while playing in the Cricket South Africa T20 Challenge. He scored 293 runs in seven innings at an average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 183.12, including 23 sixes.

Stubbs was also part of the South Africa A team to Zimbabwe before he was called up to the Mumbai Indians camp as a replacement for the injured England pacer Tymal Mills in the ongoing 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL). He was dismissed for a duck in his debut match for MI against Chennai Super Kings.
The 16-member South Africa team also includes fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who was recovering from injury since December 2021, and batters Reeza Hendricks and Heinrich Klaasen.
