The anti-drugs agency has requested more time to file the first chargesheet in the drug-on-cruise case, in which Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is an accused.
A Mumbai Sessions Court has reserved its order on the application filed by the Narcotic Control Bureau's Special Investigation Team (NCB-SIT), seeking more time to file the first chargesheet in the drugs-on-cruise case where actor Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is an accused.
The court heard both sides for nearly two hours before reserving the order.
Special Public Prosecutor Advait Sethna appearing for NCB-SIT argued that there were compelling reasons in the application to allow more time for filing a charge sheet.

A false perception is being created that the agency is supposed to file the charge sheet within a stipulated time and that it has failed to do that, he argued. The law allows extension by a year if compelling reasons are shown, he said.
According to Sethna, the application contained three parts - compelling reasons for extension, grounds for extension and what is the stage of investigation. Many of the accused had alleged mala fides during various stages of remand and bail earlier, he added.
Sethna also pointed out that both sides may have their contentions, but what is required is that the mandate of the Supreme Court is followed while considering the compelling reasons. “If we are not holy cows; they are not holier than thou. Both sides have stories to tell,” he argued.
