Mumbai court rejects MP Navneet Rana's plea for home-cooked meal

A special court in Mumbai rejected Amravati MP Navneet Rana's application seeking home food in prison.
A special Magistrate Court rejected Amravati independent MP Navneet Rana's application seeking home food in prison. The prosecution said the court rejected the plea and the details will be known when the order is available.
Although it has been reported that nothing specific was claimed as the reason for seeking home food. Generally, medical reasons are cited for obtaining permission to get food home from the prison.
Navneet is currently lodged at Mumbai's Byculla prison and since then she has been complaining about being manhandled and mistreated by the police and prison officials.
In the meantime, Navneet Rana's legal team has also issued a notice to the Byculla prison superintendent for not taking the MP to the hospital for a CT scan.
Advocate Rizwan Merchant said that Navneet suffered from a stiff back and was taken to the state-run JJ Hospital on April 27.

The doctor, according to Merchant, had recommended a CT scan. However, the prison authorities have not taken her for the examination.
