India Today
Of the ten Pakistani terrorists who attacked Mumbai in November of 2008, Kasab was the only one captured alive.
The brave police personnel who captured Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Kasab alive during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack have been granted promotion with effect from 2008, as per official sources.
These men in khaki had received medals, awards and cash prizes, but were not considered for promotions earlier. A decision was therefore taken to give them "one-step" promotion, as per a government resolution (order) dated March 22, 2022.
A one-step promotion means these officers will get salaries and other benefits meant for the next higher rank for the period starting from 2008, with arrears.
