Mumbai: BMC warns of strict action against those dumping garbage in drains, to monitor through CCTV

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that citizens who dump garbage in nullahs and public areas will now face severe penalties.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Friday that those who dump garbage in drains and nullahs will face severe penalties. According to the civic body, waterlogging occurs in the city even after regular cleaning of the drainage system as citizens dump garbage in these areas. As a result, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar and Standing Committee Chairman Yashwant Jadhav have directed the BMC administration to raise awareness at all levels, implement more effective punitive measures, and monitor the situation through CCTV.
