A multivehicle crash has closed East Sooke Road in both directions near Metchsoin, B.C., west of Victoria.
A multivehicle crash has closed East Sooke Road in both directions near Metchsoin, B.C., west of Victoria.
DriveBC says the major roadway is closed to all traffic between Rocky Point and Sutiacum roads following the crash Friday morning.
"Emergency vehicles on scene. Assessment in progress," reads a statement on the provincial highway information website.
DriveBC published the first notice about the crash shortly after 4:15 a.m., saying no detour was available. Another update from the agency is expected at 10 a.m.
The Sooke RCMP are urging the public to avoid the area for "an ongoing police incident," according to a statement on the local detachment's website.
