Multiple event venues in Virginia are canceling on an event promoting the importance of independent journalism after pressure and threats from a local Antifa group.
The event was first slated to take place at Richmond's Commonwealth Club, an organization founded in 1890 that describes itself as a "vibrant city club with a diverse membership … including leaders in business, politics, education and society." Brianna Herlihy is a politics writer for Fox News Digital.
But when club officials learned of someone they say is a leader of Richmond, Virginia, Antifa doxxing the event on X, formerly Twitter, they canceled the event, citing "safety" concerns and "the current political climate."
