Megan Thee Stallion is acting as host of the proceedings, where Katy Perry will receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a career-spanning medley. Eminem opened the show with the help of Jelly Roll. Other performers set to take the stage include Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Kravitz and Sabrina Carpenter. Swift garnered ten nominations, mostly for her whimsical black-and-white music video for the lead single “Fortnight” off her album “The Tortured Poets Department.” Her featured artist on that track, Post Malone, follows closely behind with nine nods. Song of summer “Espresso” singer Sabrina Carpenter, along with Eminem and Ariana Grande, each have six nominations going into the awards ceremony, while SZA and Megan Thee Stallion nabbed five apiece.
