Former India captain MS Dhoni is hoping to be the lucky mascot for India in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup. After having been part of an innovative press conference for a biscuit advertisement, the World Cup-winning captain was back at it on Monday, October 3.
MS Dhoni, in a promotional video for the popular biscuit brand, said he is bringing back his 2011 World Cup hairstyle in a bid to stoke a lucky charm for Team India in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup, starting October 16 in Australia.
MS Dhoni, in the video shared by the cricketer on his Facebook page, was seen sitting in a saloon, urging the hair stylist to bring back his 2011 World Cup hairstyle. Dhoni had a shortly-kept hair when he led India to a historic triumph in 2011.
Dhoni has experimented with his hairstyles over the years. Soon after leading India to the historic World Cup triumph in 2011, Dhoni went bald. The then captain even posed with the World Cup trophy in Mumbai with the new look.
Notably, Dhoni had long hair when he led India to the 2007 T20 World Cup triumph. Dhoni's long hair garnered as much attention as the Ranchi batter's big-hitting skills during the initial stage of his career.
Meanwhile, India will head to the T20 World Cup under Rohit Sharma's captaincy for the first time. The Asian giants have been in good form, beating Australia and South Africa in home.
Dhoni was India's mentor when Virat Kohli led the team at the T20 World Cup in the UAE last year. India did not have a good outing as they were ousted befor the semi-final stages after defeats to Pakistan and New Zealand.
