Mrunal Thakur is glad to meet Nani, the OG Jersey star

Mrunal Thakur was elated to meet Nani in Hyderbad where she is shooting for her next with Dulquer Salmaan. Jersey is the remake of Nani-starrer of the same name.

Mrunal Thakur's latest film, Jersey released today, April 22. The actress is receiving rave reviews for her performance as Vidya in the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Recently. Mrunal had an accidental but absolutely endearing encounter with the leading man of the original. Telugu star Nani met the actress during her shoot in Hyderabad, where she is shooting for her next with Dulquer Salmaan.

Mrunal Thakur was charmed by the humbleness of Nani. The Telugu actor shared his excitement for Jersey remake starring her and Shahid in the leads. The film released today across India in cinemas. Mrunal, who has watched the the Telugu film and it was Nani and Shraddha’s performances that made her want to be part of the remake. Both the Hindi and Telugu Jersey is helmed by Goutam Tinnanuri.

Speaking about her meeting with Nani, Mrunal Thakur said, “Nani was so humble and such an absolute sweetheart. He even shared with me his excitement to see the remake and I’m looking forward to see what he thinks of the remake. When I watched the original film, it was Shraddha and his performance that made me want to work in this film. So I’m glad I got to meet him in person."

Jersey is the Hindi remake of a Telugu film of the same title. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who helmed the original, Jersey stars Shahid Kapoor in the role of a cricketer whose dreams of playing for the nation are fulfilled in his 40s. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur.
