India Today
The TMC said on Tuesday that five of its MPs identified themselves as 'tourists' to enter Uttar Pradesh to meet families of the deceased farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri.
A five-member delegation of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders met the families of the deceased farmers in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri on Tuesday. This was the only delegation of Opposition leaders that managed to travel all the way to violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri amid prohibitory orders issued by the district administration. The excruciating pain of our farmers and their tears doesn't seem to reach Mr. @narendramodi. Is he really unable to feel their grief, unable to act upon their concerns? We will stand shoulder to shoulder with each and every family & fight for their justice till our last breath! pic.twitter.com/AVnh15ARXN pic.twitter.com/O4AfP2aDQf
In a press statement, the Trinamool Congress revealed that the delegation of party leaders "identified themselves as tourists" to enter the state of Uttar Pradesh in order to meet the bereaved families.
