MP Police raids transport officer's house, finds property worth 650 times more than his income

The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) found properties worth crores, luxury cars, a theater at home in a raid at a regional transport officer’s house in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur.
Economic Offence Wing (EOW) raided the house of a regional transport officer (RTO) Santosh Pal in an alleged disproportionate assets case in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur on Wednesday night.
Reportedly, the EOW found properties worth 650 times more than his income from the RTO’s house located in Shatabdi Puram Colony of Jabalpur. RTO Santosh Pal’s wife is also a clerk in the department.
During the raid, the EOW found 16 lakh cash and jewellery worth lakhs from his home along with many luxury cars and several other documents. The RTO also has a theatre at his home.
The EOW also found proofs of dozens of houses and farmhouses registered on his name.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the expenditure and acquired assets at RTO’s house is 650 times more than his income during his service period.
According to EOW SP Devendra Pratap Singh, “We received a complaint about RTO Santosh Pal and his clerical wife Rekha Pal having assets more than their income. It was verified by Swarnjit Singh Dhami. After late night investigation, it was revealed that the RTO had properties worth 650 times more than his income.”
EOW has found documents of RTO’s 1,247 sq feet house in PP Colony Gwarighat during investigation. Similarly information related to two residential buildings of 1,150 sq ft in Shankar Shah ward and 10,000 sq ft at Shatabdi Puram have been received.
