Bhongir MP accuses BRS leaders of undermining Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urges public to discern facts from propaganda.
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders of attempting to undermine Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy through a social media campaign, urging the public to discern facts from political propaganda.
Addressing the media in New Delhi on Monday, he said, “While the BRS could not exceed an annual expenditure of ₹7,000 crore during its decade-long rule, we have spent over ₹53,000 crore in a single year. This demonstrates our dedication to the State’s progress.” He contrasted this with the BRS’s alleged financial mismanagement, claiming that ₹20,000 crore was wasted on projects benefiting real estate traders and influential individuals under Rythu Bharosa.
The MP accused the BRS government of financially bankrupting the State during its tenure, leaving it unable to fulfil promises made to the people.
Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy also criticised the BJP, questioning its commitment to farmers. “If BJP leaders truly care about farmers, they should persuade Prime Minister Modi to implement Telangana’s welfare schemes nationwide,” he said. He further demanded clarity from BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao regarding the alleged misuse of funds under Rythu Bharosa.
Referring to allegations against KTR, Mr. Reddy cited reports of ₹55 crore being sent to a foreign company, suggesting that KTR was engaging in ‘dramas’ following an Enforcement Directorate (ED) inquiry.
Defending the Congress leadership, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said, “Unlike the BRS government, where ministers were reduced to attendants, our Chief Minister Revanth Reddy leads with dignity.”
