With certain sections of the corporate sector, particularly information technology companies, continuing to offer their employees the work-from-anywhere option, self-storage spaces have gained a new level of visibility and patronage. In the last one year, self-storage space providers with a fairly large presence across the country have found themselves Chennai addresses, some of them adding these to existing facilities. Bengaluru-based Safe Storage launched its services in Chennai in November 2020 with a 10,000 sq.ft space. Under the NBS, newborns are screened for communication disorders before they are discharged from the hospital. For this, AIISH has collaborated with several hospitals to conduct screening which is performed to detect hearing impairment and other developmental disabilities that can affect speech and language development. The screening has been helping in early intervention for those identified with the disorders, as any delay in the identification poses risk and affects successful management of children with hearing loss, according to AIISH.
