After giving you all an inside scoop on her mehendi and sangeet jewellery, we now bring to you exclusive details about the exquisite jewellery she wore for her wedding ceremonies.
MOUNI ROY'S TEMPLE JEWELLERY FOR MALAYALI WEDDING
Mouni Roy got hitched to beau Suraj Nambair in Malayali and Bengali wedding ceremonies on January 27 in Goa. For her Malayali wedding, she made a royal bride in a white silk saree with traditional red and golden border. With her hair adorned in gajra, she beautifully embraced her hubby’s cultural roots. However, what actually took her look a notch higher was the temple jewellery she paired her saree with. Designed by Anmol Jewellers, her temple jewellery ensemble was one of a kind and featured everything from a kamarbandh, choker to kadas and matha patti.
IndiaToday.in exclusively spoke to Mr. Ishu Datwani, Founder, Anmol Jewellers and he shared some inside details about the regal temple jewellery worn by Mouni. “For her South Indian wedding, Mouni wore exquisite handcrafted temple gold jewellery. Her ensemble comprised an elegant choker with long haar, jhumkas, matha patti, kadas and kamarbandh crafted in pure 22-carat gold. Temple jewellery embodies the rich cultural history, tradition and legacy of South India, with carvings of Gods and Goddesses,” he said.
“The jewellery Mouni Roy wore for her wedding features carvings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi,” Ishu Datwani added.
“Mouni Roy wore authentic temple jewellery handcrafted by master artisans and it took about 30-45 days to make it due to the detailing, precision and intricacy in the craftsmanship. Her jewellery for the Malayali wedding was entirely hand-crafted in pure 22K gold by our artisans using traditional craftsmanship forms like Nakkashi, Rava, Carving, Chitrai, Chasing & Repousse techniques,” he further revealed.
