More than 3 years after he was shot to death, Marko Bakir's family still waits for answers

Marko Bakir's family says he adored spending time with them and his two dogs, Rex and Diamond.
They say he posted positive, encouraging quotes daily for family and friends to read.
But they still don't know who shot and killed the 31-year-old at his west Mountain home in 2018.
"There's not a day that goes by where he doesn't cross our minds. Holidays, family gatherings and life itself is less sweet without Marko," the family said in a statement through Hamilton police on Thursday.
"We all miss him unconditionally and still can't believe he has been gone for more than three years."
Police previously said a neighbour found Bakir lying in his own driveway on the night of Nov. 22. Several residents reported hearing loud bangs they believed to be shots.
Officers say Bakir was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency crews tried to save him.
Bakir lived in a $580,000 home, according to property records at the time, and had several vehicles. He wasn't known to police before he was shot, said Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk.
Police call his death "senseless."
People with information can call Det. Robert Di Ianni of the homicide unit at 905-546-3836, or call Crime Stoppers.
"We are pleading for anyone with information regarding Mark's murder to contact the Hamilton police homicide unit so we can get answers and get justice so we can continue into the next stage of the grieving process," said Bakir's family.
