MoPH reports 130 new Covid cases, one death Wednesday

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Wednesday reported today 130 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the past 24 hours, and recorded 296 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 356,253. In a statement, the MoPH said that 121 of the new confirmed cases are among the community and nine among travellers.
The ministry also reported the death of a 82-year-old patient, who had a history of chronic diseases and was receiving the necessary medical care. The MoPH reported that 6,438,899 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination programme, adding that 11,430 doses have been administered in the past 24 hours. The ministry added that 1,315,804 booster vaccine doses have been administered so far, explaining that 88.2% of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses. The MoPH called for caution and continued adherence to restrictions and precautionary and preventative measures, and to contact 16000 helpline immediately if anyone suffering from Covid-19 symptoms.
