Montreal police issue Amber Alert for missing 1-year-old girl

Montreal police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing one-year-old girl that was taken from a home in the Lachine borough.
The child, Zeynab Cherrabi El Alaoui, was abducted overnight while staying at her maternal grandparents' home. She was wearing a light pink onesie with pink and white unicorn on it.
Her grandparents noticed that she was missing and a window was open at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, according to Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant. They called 911 and officers have been going door-to-door seeking information about the missing child.
Police are also searching for a suspect, the girl's mother, Miryanna Monterrosa-Laberge, who is 18 years old, and whom they say did not have custody of Cherrabi El Alaoui, nor live at the child's grandparents' home.
Monterrosa-Laberge is five feet three inches tall, weighs 120 lb. and has a scar on the left side of her upper lip and another on her forehead.
Police have already found Cherrabi El Alaoui's father in Laval, Que., and are questioning him.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 and not approach the suspect if spotted.
In Quebec, only Montreal and provincial police can launch an Amber Alert, which must meet three criteria: police have reasonable grounds to believe a minor has been abducted, the child is thought to be in danger and authorities have enough information about the child and suspect that an alert can help find them.
