Mohanlal to return with Drishyam 3. Film to release in 2023-2024

Mohanlal will return with Drishyam 3. As per the announcement, the film might release in 2023-2024.

Mohanlal starrer crime-thriller Drishyam will return with the third part, producer Antony Perumbavoor confirmed during an awards show. Trade expert Manobala Vijayabalan also confirmed the news and wrote, "#Drishyam3 CONFIRMED by Producer Antony Perumbavoor in the Mazhavil Entertainment Awards. #Mohanlal." Reportedly, Mohanlal was given a one-line concept for the third installment and he really liked the concept.

As per reports, Drishyam 3 will be released in 2023-2024. Drishyam was directed by Jeethu Joseph and starred Mohanlal in the lead role. The film was remade in four other languages, including Hindi, which saw Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The other remakes include Drishya in Kannada featuring V. Ravichandran, Drushyam in Telugu starring Venkatesh, Papanasam in Tamil featuring Kamal Haasan.

Drishyam revolves around George Kutty (Mohanlal) defending himself and his family after his wife accidentally kills the son of the Inspector-General of Police to save their reputation and honour. Meanwhile, Drishyam 2 in Hindi is also in the pipeline. It will be directed by Abhishek Pathak and will clash with Anubhav Sinha's social thriller Bheed starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar.

For those unaware, Nishikant Kamat's Drishyam is an emotional thriller that deals with the story of a cable operator Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), whose life revolves around cinema and his family; wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju and Anu. Tabu plays the role of IG Meera Deshmukh in the film.
