Moeen Ali was part of England's 2019 World Cup-winning squad. He called time on his Test career last year after taking 195 wickets, the third most Test wickets by a spinner for England.
England all-rounder Moeen Ali has been recognised in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Honours list and awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to cricket.
"It means a great deal to receive this honour. Cricket has given me so much in my life and I feel lucky and honoured to be able to play and enjoy this great game all around the world," Moeen said in a statement.
"None of that would have been possible without the amazing support from my family and I will be forever grateful to them. Hopefully, I've managed to inspire a few people along the way."
