PAK vs ENG, 6th T20I: England beat Pakistan by eight wickets in the penultimate match of the series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The series decider will take place on October 2.
Stand-in skipper Moeen Ali was delighted with his team’s performance after England beat Pakistan by eight wickets in the sixth T20I on Friday, September 30 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The Three Lions chased down 170 with as many as 33 balls to spare.
Alex Hales and Phil Salt laid the platform with a 55-run stand for the opening wicket off 3.5 overs. Salt went on to score the third fastest T20I fifty by an English batter and finished on 88* off 41 balls with 13 fours and three sixes.
While lauding the batters, Moeen also had words of praise for the bowlers, who didn’t allow Pakistan to get away by picking wickets at regular intervals.
"Very happy, thought the way we batted in particular was outstanding. It shows if you stick to the process, you don't have to slog, you can play proper shots. And I thought the seamers were outstanding today. If you don't lose wickets early on you can keep going,” Moeen was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony.
“Good base, good shots, really impressive performance. Another good game, I hope, it's been a brilliant series. We feel we've learned a lot as a group,” he stated.
Moreover, Moeen shared an update on Jos Buttler, who is yet to play a single match in the series due to a calf injury. Buttler hasn’t played any form of cricket since Manchester Originals’ match against Southern Brave in the Men’s Hundred on August 18.
