Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has announced through its X account the completion process of fencing and rehabilitating the “Mehairja” garden situated in the northern region of Qatar.
The garden has an area of 249,141 square metres, and is part of the garden fencing project that the Ministry recently started.
“Mehairja” garden stands unique in Qatar due to its environmental importance and the growth of many important pastoral and medicinal plant species, including thorn tree species such as Vachellia tortilis and Lycium shawii.
In addition, the garden is also home to many perennial and seasonal plants, including Pulicaria undulata, Stipa capensis, Piptanthus, and others.
The rehabilitation of the garden is part of a larger effort by the Ministry to envision a cleaner and sustainable environment in Qatar by 2030.
