Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjeet Singh clinch mixed skeet gold at 67th National Shooting Championship, Tamil Nadu wins air rifle event.
Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjeet Singh won the mixed skeet gold for Rajasthan, beating Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Areeba Khan 44-43 in the 67th National shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Wednesday.
Maheshwari and Anantjeet duo, which had missed the Olympic bronze in Paris by one point, had topped qualification with 143. Three teams were tied on 141, and Uttar Pradesh won the shoot-off to earn the right to fight for the gold.
In the mixed air rifle event at the Madhya Pradesh Academy in Bhopal, the Tamil Nadu pair of R. Narmada and Sri Karthik Sabari Raj bagged the gold with a 16-6 win over qualification topper Railways team of Arjun Babuta and Sonam Maskar.
Manini Kaushik won the non-Olympic 50-metre rifle prone women’s gold.
