A minor girl was allegedly molested and gang-raped in a Mercedes car by three to four men in Hyderabad. An MLA's son and a juvenile were allegedly involved in the incident, say police sources.
Police launched an investigation to verify the facts of the case, which was registered at Jubilee Hills police station on Wednesday, June 1.
The incident took place on Saturday. Initially, a case was booked under Section 354 of the IPC and the POCSO Act against the three accused involved in the incident.
The 17-year-old girl was sent for medical examination and police have now altered the case and added section 376 (gang rape) of the IPC to it.
A senior police official told India Today TV that an MLA’s son and the chairman of a minority board were present at the party and had accompanied the girl. The victim was able to identify and name only one accused, who is also a minor.
Further investigation is in progress.
