A group of Minnesota Democrats want to pass new restrictions on the state’s police departments following the shooting death of Daunte Wright – and they’re threatening to shut down the government in order to get their way.
If a spending plan isn’t approved by that date, the state government will shut down, according to the station. "I’m not promising that we’re going to do more reform. I’m promising to listen to see if something is warranted." State Republicans have already agreed to hold hearings on police accountability in the coming weeks but are not promising any changes to police policies, FOX 9 reported.
Lucy Harrison, a 23-year-old from England, was shot and killed while visiting her father's house in Texas. Authorities have not commented further.
