The Ministry of Culture and Sports, in cooperation and partnership with the Social Development Center (NAMA), launched training workshops for the Life Skills Program, through videoconferencing, with the participation of 32 young male and female from eight Gulf and Arab countries.
The program, which will run until Sep. 30, aims to link the needs of young people and life situations with the needs of society, which helps them manage their life in a flexible and effective way, and rely on themselves.
It also aims at helping young people to positively adapt to their environment, keep pace with changes, face pressures, and provide them with the opportunity to live better, especially in a society characterized by the rapid explosion of knowledge, information and technology, and the increasing knowledge economy, as young people need those skills that are based on information technology and the need to competitive operational capabilities.
The program seeks to provide youths with direct experiences through direct dealing with people and life phenomena, which gives them the ability to combine what they learn and study and what they encounter during interaction with the surrounding reality. It also provides them with modern means for obtaining information and knowledge by their own from approved sources, and makes them feel the problems that the society is facing with the desire to solve them, as well as cooperate with those around them by communicating with them and expressing opinions and ideas correctly. In addition, the program enables youths to relate to the global community, learn about global issues and gain information and knowledge about peoples' lives.
