Minimum temperature to remain stable in Kolkata till cloud cover recedes: MeT

According to the MeT department, the minimum temperature is likely to remain stable in Kolkata till the cloud cover recedes.

Days after Kolkata was drenched by overnight rains under the influence of cyclone Jawad, the city remained cloudy on Wednesday. The city had a cloudy day due to a low pressure trough across the south to north Bay of Bengal. The weather system had been generating clouds that will continue to hover over the city for the next two days, the MeT office said.

The MeT officials were quoted by the Times of India (TOI) as saying that the unseasonal clouds have delayed a temperature drop in the city. The minimum temperature is expected to dip to 15 degrees Celsius by December 13-14.
