Minimum temperature in Delhi dips to 7.1°C; AQI in 'moderate' category

The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 7.1°C on Sunday (January 26, 2025), 1.2°C below the season's average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The IMD forecasted mist during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 23°C. The relative humidity was measured at 72% at 8.30 a.m., the weather department added.
The city's air quality remained in the "moderate" category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 196 recorded at 9 a.m..
An AQI between 0-50 is categorised as "good," 51-100 as "satisfactory," 101-200 as "moderate," 201-300 as "poor," 301-400 as "very poor," and 401-500 as "severe."
In response to all these issues, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched a series of initiatives aimed at addressing the root causes of conflict. Among them is a campaign to promote animal rights awareness in schools and campaigns for the wider public. As part of this effort, BBMP has also finetuned its animal grievance helpline and is setting up animal rescue centres across the city. These centres are the first of their kind in Karnataka.
