"You are ruining India's name," said a bystander to Uorfi Javed
Uorfi Javed is no stranger to controversy. Her unique fashion choices have always made headlines as have her statements about her personal and professional life. Now, Uorfi Javed is in the news for her argument with a man who commented about her outfit at the airport and told her that she was ruining India's image with the choice of her clothes. It so happened that Uorfi Javed was posing for the paparazzi gathered at the airport that she was exiting. The actress was dressed in a green flowy dress with her pink hair making quite the statement. As the actress is posing, a middle-aged man walks up to her and says, “Allowed nahi hai aisa kapda India mein. India ka naam kharaab karrahe ho [You are not allowed to dress like this in India. You are ruining India's name].” He further says, “Galat hai. India ka naam kharab hota hai humlog ka. [This is wrong. You are ruining India's name and ours].”
Uorfi Javed, who was initially taken aback, replies to the man, "Aapke baap ka kuch jaaraha hai kya? Nahi jaaraha ha na aapke baap ka? Toh jaao apna kaam karo. [It is none of your business],”adding, “Uncle apna kaam karo [Uncle, mind your business].” At this point, a woman, presumably from Uorfi Javed's team, is seen preventing further interaction between the Bigg Boss OTT sensation and the man, asking him to walk away.
Before this, a few days ago, Uorfi Javed alleged that she was harassed by some drunk men on a flight. Sharing a video on her Instagram Stories, she said, “While travelling from Mumbai to Goa on one of the flights yesterday. I had to go through harassment, the men in this video were saying nasty things, eve-teasing and calling names. When I confronted them, one of them said, their friends were drunk. Being drunk is no excuse to misbehave with women. Public figure YES. Public property NO."
