More than four million people in Texas have no power while freezing temperatures remain. Thawing is not expected until Friday.
At least one person was dead and more than four million were without power in the southern US state of Texas after a rare deep freeze placed an enormous burden on the state’s electrical grid, prompting rolling blackouts and limited ability of some providers to generate power. The cause of the death of the person was suspected to be an exposure to “extreme low temperatures”, Houston police chief Art Acevedo said on Twitter. The Associated Press news agency reported a second person, also exposed to the extreme weather, had been found dead in Texas.More Related News
