Former Union Minister Milind Deora urges Maharashtra CM to audit illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, emphasizing document verification for job placements.
Former Union Minister and Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora has called upon Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a comprehensive audit of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants across the State. In his letter, Mr. Deora stressed on the necessity of stringent actions against staffing agencies that neglect proper document verification before employment placements.
“I have also recommended strict action against staffing agencies that fail to verify documents before placing individuals in jobs,” he said. This appeal comes in the wake of the recent stabbing incident involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence.
Mr. Deora stressed on the importance of conducting a thorough audit of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing and working in Maharashtra. He called for the involvement of district collectors, local municipalities, and law enforcement agencies to identify and take to action against undocumented individuals.
Highlighting the role of staffing agencies, Mr. Deora recommended that stringent regulations be implemented to ensure that agencies verify the authenticity of all documents before placing individuals in jobs.
The parliamentarian underscored Maharashtra’s reputation as a beacon of opportunity and inclusivity, but pointed out the necessity of balancing these values with safeguarding the State’s security, safety, and legal accountability. He asserted that addressing the issue would strengthen public confidence and protect the interests of law-abiding citizens and businesses.
