Might face consequences: Ex-Afghan education minister fearful after Taliban takeover
India Today
After Taliban took control of Afghanistan, former Education Minister Rangina Hamidi said she is afraid of the consequences she might face.
"I might face consequences that I never dreamt of. I guess, that's the price we have to pay for trying to make this world a little better," former Afghan Education Minister Rangina Hamidi said as she hoped for her safety as the Taliban took control of the country on Sunday. Speaking to BBC World, she shared her fears as Afghanistan went to the Taliban after two decades of the US intervention, "(I have) the fear that every mother, every woman has in Afghanistan -- I keep telling myself to think that I have not done anything bad and hopefully I would not have to pay the price for joining a government position. But now I might face consequences that I never even dreamt of and I guess that's the price for trying to make this world a little better, particularly in Afghanistan," she said.More Related News
