Michigan police hunt ‘monster’ in Detroit freeway shooting that left one child dead, another hospitalized

Michigan police are hunting for a shooter who fired into the side of a moving vehicle on a freeway in Detroit late Thursday, killing a two-year-old boy and leaving a nine-year-old boy in critical condition.
The driver whose vehicle was fired upon pulled over at McNichols Road and noticed both of their children were shot. The 2-year-old was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 9-year-old was transported to the hospital and was listed in serious condition Friday morning. No license plate was obtained for the suspect’s vehicle, state police said. Metro South Post and Special Investigation detectives responded to the scene of the shooting and troopers shut down the freeway after the incident.
