Pollard's important cameo helped Mumbai reach a challenging 150 for 5 at the MA Chidambaram stadium which they managed to defend successfully by bowling out Hyderabad for 137. It was the second time in a row that MI managed to defend a par score at Chepauk after their 10-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the last game in which they posted 152 and then stopped the opposition at 142 for 7 in 20 overs.
