Former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta is eagerly waiting to see Virat Kohli partnering opener Devdutt Padikkal at the top when they take the field against Mumbai Indians in the opening match of IPL 2021 on Friday. Virat Kohli had said last month that he will be moving himself up the batting order to open with Padikkal, who was a revelation for RCB in the IPL last season. Kohli averages over 47 as an opener in the IPL, having amassed 2345 runs in 16 innings. 4 of his 5 centuries in the IPL came when he opened in the 2016 season.
