Xiaomi’s first foldable smartphone is here. The Mi Mix Fold was launched in China on Tuesday during a two-day keynote by the electronics maker. The new Mi Mix smartphone features a 108-megapixel main camera, an inward-folding design, dual-screen form factor as the Samsung Galaxy Fold series, 67W fast charging but what makes this smartphone stand out, is the liquid lens on one of its rear cameras. Mi Mix Fold is world’s first smartphone with Liquid Lens technology which uses the principle of human eye bionics, “forming a lens-like structure with a transparent fluid wrapped in film, very different from traditional optical lenses.” In simple words, the camera uses a motor to precisely manipulate a packet of fluid, which allows the camera to switch between Telephoto Mode (3x optical zoom or 30x hybrid zoom) and maintain a minimum focus distance of 3cm. Xiaomi claims that this helps one lens to cover the functions of two lenses. The Liquid Lens helps users shoot from close distances as well as take wide shots.More Related News
