The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sought an urgent hearing in the 1994 espionage case against ISRO scientist Dr S Nambi Narayanan who was charged with leaking confidential information pertaining to India’s space development to foreign agents. Last week, a high-level probe panel appointed by the Supreme Court, headed by retired justice DK Jain, had submitted a report on the role of the police officials involved in causing 'tremendous harassment' and 'immeasurable anguish' to the Isro scientist. The home affairs ministry has now moved a plea 'seeking necessary directions in the interest of Justice'.
