Mexico cartel leader known as 'The Egg' indicted in Texas following attacks after his arrest

The head of a Mexican drug cartel known as “Huevo,” or Egg, has been indicted on federal drug and gun trafficking charges following his arrest that set off a round of shootings and fires that closed U.S. border crossings and an American consulate on the border near Texas.

He was extradited to California on Tuesday after being flown from Nuevo Laredo to Tijuana. He was handed over to U.S. agents across the border.
He faces 11 counts, including money laundering and conspiracy to import cocaine. He faces up to life in prison.
