We met at an IPL match last year, became friends and decided to get married, said Deepak Chahar on marrying Jaya Bharadwaj.
Team India pacer Deepak Chahar entered into wedlock in an Agra hotel with Jaya Bharadwaj on Wednesday evening amidst the presence of his family and a large number of his admirers.
Deepak told India Today that he met Jaya during an IPL match last year and soon they were close friends. The friendship transformed into romance and they finally decided to get married in his hometown Agra.
Originally a resident of Barakhamba Road in Delhi, Jaya is the sister of Bigg Boss contestant Siddharth Bharadwaj. Deepak's cousin and leg spinner Rahul Chahar danced at the wedding along with Deepak's father Lokendra Singh Chahar, in a ceremony that lasted till 10 pm.
Deepak was dressed in a white sherwani at the wedding while Jaya wore a maroon lehenga.
Answering a question, Deepak said that this was one of the most beautiful moments of his life, while Jaya said she was happy to finally marry the man of her dreams. She said that Deepak is not only a world-class bowler in the field, but he is also a world-class gentleman in his personal life.
The wedding ceremony was also attended by Agra MP Rajkumar Chahar and several local administrative officials and cricketers.
