
MES Indian School holds debate contest

Doha: With an aim to hone the public speaking skills of students, the Department of English, MES Indian School, Doha-Qatar organised ‘Turncoat’, an intersection debate, wherein the speakers had to speak for the topic and switch over their stand by contradicting their own viewpoint at the very next moment in a stipulated time.
The topics of debate included ‘Impact of Social Media on Teenagers and High School Students’, ‘Effects of Cartoons on the Mental Development of Children’ and ‘Is Artificial Intelligence a Threat to Human Civilization’.
The event comprised two rounds. In the first round, the participants presented their views on the given topic with great enthusiasm which was followed by the visual round, in which they had to speak based on the visuals shown on the screen.
