The residents of Melitopol took to the streets after the alleged abduction of mayor Ivan Fedorov by the Russian forces on Saturday.
The residents gathered near the building of the district state administration on Ivan Alekseev Street where the occupiers have now settled.
Ivan Sergeevich was abducted from the building of the Taras Shevchenko Palace of Culture, where the headquarters and centre for providing social assistance are located, after he refused to cooperate with the Russian military.
In a Twitter post, Dmytro Kuleba claimed that Yevhen Matveyev, mayor of Dniprorudne city, was kidnapped by "Russian war criminals" on Sunday.
