Meghan Markle's style, from "Suits" to the royal family and beyond

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially left behind their lives as working royals and set up a new home in California. But Meghan, one half of that couple, still seems to make news every time she steps in front of a camera. 

Meghan and Prince Harry have announced deals with Netflix, Spotify and other companies, and are expecting their second child this summer. During the couple's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan chose a silk Armani dress — reportedly worth $4,700 — with a white lotus print. In this photo from January 7, 2020, Meghan pairs a brown turtleneck with a brown skirt, both from Massimo Dutti. During the visit to Canada House in London, Meghan paired the sweater and skirt with Jimmy Choo pumps.  The Duchess of Sussex brought a tan Reiss coat to wear over her brown ensemble. In July 2019, Meghan and Harry attended the European premiere of "The Lion King." She wore a black dress with a sheer top and sleeves. Meghan wore a blue and green plaid Burberry coat to a visit to Edinburgh with Prince Harry. She celebrated International Women's Day 2018 in this nautical coat, white turtleneck and black pants. The dress had a keyhole opening in the back. Here, Meghan and Harry meet Beyoncé and Jay-Z.  Meghan wore these sparkly Aquazzura shoes to "The Lion King" premiere. This photo, taken in London at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, is from way back in June 2016, just days before Meghan would meet Prince Harry through friends. Meghan cradled her baby bump in this floral dress by Brock Collection on a visit to Brinsworth House nursing home in Twickenham, England. She was five months pregnant in December 2018. Meghan wore a white tuxedo dress by British designer Grace Wales Bonner when she and Harry introduced their newborn son, Archie, in May 2019. In September 2017, Meghan and Harry, then just a few months into their relationship, made their first official public appearance together. Meghan wore a light blue blouse and jeans. On November 27, 2017, Harry and Meghan announced their engagement. She wore a white belted coat by Line the Label. The stones in Meghan's ring have sentimental value as well as monetary value.  A few weeks after their engagement, Meghan celebrated her first Christmas with the royal family. She wore a khaki coat with brown accessories. On May 19, 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. Meghan wore a white silk Givenchy boat-neck gown to the ceremony. After the wedding, Meghan changed into this Stella McCartney halter dress for the evening reception. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out in style for the wedding of Harry's best friend, Charlie van Straubenzee, to Daisy Jenks. The wedding, on August 4, 2018, was held on Meghan's 37th birthday. Two weeks after Prince Harry and Meghan announced they were expecting their first child, the duchess greeted a crowd in New Zealand in a royal blue outfit. The Duchess of Sussex wore a sequined halter with black pants to the annual Royal Variety Performance in November 2018. She was four months pregnant. In January 2019, Meghan looked regal in a red coat and matching shoes. The expectant parents visited a newly erected statue of poet Wilfred Owen in the Liverpool suburb of Birkenhead. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a Cirque du Soleil performance at Royal Albert Hall in January 2019. Meghan wore a sequined blue dress. The Duchess of Sussex wore an army green dress to the King Power Royal Charity Polo Match in July 2019. Meghan spent the day with Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, at the Wimbledon Championships in July 2019. Meghan wore a white blouse and a pleated skirt. The Duchess of Sussex wore a denim dress with a grey sweater at the 2019 US Open in September. In September 2019, Meghan launched a fashion line to benefit Smart Works, an organization that helps unemployed women succeed at job interviews and return to the workforce.  Later in September, the duchess wore this black and white Mayamiko printed dress while visiting the Nyanga Township in Cape Town, South Africa. Meghan wore this blue dress to the District Six museum in Cape Town. The Duchess of Sussex sported a denim jacket to Monwabisi Beach in Cape Town. After the beach, Meghan swapped the denim jacket for this striped dress. In it she attended a reception at the residence of the British High Commissioner in South Africa. Meghan and Prince Harry attended the Heritage Day celebrations in the Bo Kaap district of Cape Town. Meghan wore this olive maxi dress for the occasion. Meghan wore this double-breasted khaki dress to the University of Johannesburg on October 1, 2019. While in Johannesburg, the duchess wore this green, Room 502 shirt-dress to ActionAid, a social justice organization that works with low-income families in the area. Meghan was radiant in white on a visit to the Tembisa Township in Johannesburg, South Africa. She paired her dress with red tassel earrings. And here's Meghan at an afternoon reception in Johannesburg wearing a different double-breasted, belted khaki dress. This one has thinner lapels and a sash-style belt. After returning to London from South Africa, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, attended the WillChild Awards in this emerald green number. On October 22, 2019, Meghan wore this purple midi-length dress to the One Young World Summit's opening ceremony in London. In November 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan wore black to the 91st Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey. Her coat is fleece and pinned with the traditional red poppy. A few days later, at the Remembrance Sunday service, Meghan wore a black wool pea coat and a wide-brimmed hat. For one of the Festival of Remembrance events, at the Royal Albert Hall on November 09, 2019 in London, Meghan reportedly wore an Erdem dress. ,  For a Commonwealth Day Service on March 9, 2020 in London, Meghan wore this all-green ensemble, including a hat by William Chambers. The caped dress was by Emilia Wickstead, and the look -- her last scheduled appearance as a royal -- was completed with nude stilettos by Aquazzura. Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex matched in red for their arrival at the Mountbatten Music Festival at Royal Albert Hall on March 7, 2020 in London. Her Safiyaa cape dress look was complemented with Stuart Weitzman pumps and a Blahnik clutch. The Duchess of Sussex chose a Victoria Beckham dress and black Blahnik pumps for the Endeavour Fund Awards on March 5, 2020 in London. For a March 2019 Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in London, on March 11, 2019, Meghan wore a white, printed Victoria Beckham dress. Here, the former actress poses in a Carolina Herrera dress for an official handout photo announcing her pregnancy in February 2021.  Meghan wore a mostly-white outfit with matte black sunglasses. The center diamond is from Botswana, where Meghan and Harry took a camping trip early in their courtship. The stones to either side of the center diamond belonged to Harry's mother, Princess Diana. She wore this business-friendly ensemble to introduce the collection.
