Meet Ajay Krishna Vishwesha, the judge who will hear Gyanvapi mosque case from today

The hearing in Gyanvapi mosque has been transferred to District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishwesha. He will be presiding over the case from today. Here's all you need to know.
A day after the Supreme Court transferred all cases related to Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi from the senior division judge to the district judge, the hearing will begin on the maintainability of the suit and first decide on the civil suit filed on the transfer of papers on behalf of Hindu devotees by District Judge Dr Ajay Krishna Vishwesha on Monday.
Vishwesha has an overall experience of over 30 years and hails from Uttarakhand's Haridwar district. He is presiding at the present position since August 2021.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Vishwesha was born in 1964 in Haridwar. After graduating in science, he studied law. He did LLB in 1984 and LLM in 1986.

In the year 1990, he started his career from Munsif Court in Kotdwar. Before becoming the District Judge of Varanasi, Vishwesha was the District Judge of Bulandshahr. He has also worked as a district judge in Saharanpur and Allahabad. He is due to retire in January 2024.
Vishwesha will hear the matter after the Supreme Court order stated that a district judge should hear the Gyanvapi case on priority.
The 58-year-old judge has taken several training courses to keep himself updated and just finished a leadership course from National Judicial Academy, Bhopal in March.
