A man filed for divorce as his wife gained weight after marriage. The incident came to light when the woman, identified as Nazma, reached the police station and demanded justice in Meerut.
She said that her husband named Salman had thrown her out of the house a month ago and, after that, he filed for divorce.
The couple, who also have a 7-year-old son, used to fight a lot as the man often used to body shame Nazma.
He used to call her 'fat' and said he couldn't be with someone like her.
She said that she wanted to live with Salman, but her husband wanted a divorce. She felt helpless and demanded justice in the matter.
Talking to India Today, CO Kotwali Arvind Chaurasia, said, that no such case had come to his notice. But if any matter like this is reported, then after an investigation, the strictest action will be taken against the culprit.
