Doha, Qatar: Reaffirming its commitment to the local community, McDonald’s Qatar, fully owned and operated by Al Mana Restaurants & Food Company, partnered with Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Blood Donor Centre to hold a blood donation drive at its flagship restaurant in the Old Airport area.
Organised for the third year in a row, in recognition of World Blood Donor Day, the initiative witnessed keen participation from McFamily members, including customers, employees — from each of McDonald’s Qatar’s 77 branches — as well as its higher management.
The event gave another opportunity to voluntary donors to join the noble act of solidarity and play a role in enhancing community welfare.
Every year, on June 14, communities across the world commemorate World Blood Donor Day to emphasise the critical importance of blood in saving lives and appreciate goodwill donors for their valuable support to national blood supply and health systems.
Voluntary donation from generous donors within the country has meant that Qatar remains self-sufficient in blood supply. The HMC Blood Donor Centre is the sole entity responsible for the collection and distribution of blood and blood products to all hospitals and healthcare facilities in Qatar.
