A prisoner in Mathura district jail tried to kill himself with a sharp weapon made out of a spoon on Wednesday.
A prisoner in Mathura district jail tried to kill himself with a sharp weapon on Wednesday.
He cut the veins of his hand and throat. He was found lying in a pool of blood inside the bathroom by other prisoners.
The inmate used a weapon made out of a spoon which he sharpened on a stone.
The jail administration immediately rushed him to the district hospital for treatment.
The Chief Medical Superintendent, Mukund Bansal, said that the prisoner was brought from the district jail in critical condition. His neck surgery was done and his condition is stable.
The 21-year-old prisoner, Jitendra alias Jeetu, a resident of Prabhavati, was detained on charges of assault and murder in January 2019.
