The Agra Development Authority announced the 'Master Plan 2031' on Saturday, which restricts any construction within 100 metres of any monument and requires any industries currently operating in the area to relocate elsewhere.
Only single-storey and 3.75-meter-high buildings will be permitted between 100 and 300 metres from any heritage monument after obtaining permission from the Archaeological Survey of India.
No permission will be given to construct more than double-storey or 7.5-metre high buildings in the rest of the zone from Taj Mahal to Ram Bagh.

An ASI official told India Today TV that the Supreme Court has already prohibited new construction up to 500 metres from the Taj Mahal. This has been made a part of the Master Plan.
Meanwhile, no new construction higher than two-storeys will be permitted up to 1 km from the Taj Mahal and all older constructions will not be allowed to be repaired.
No towers will be allowed to be erected in the zone so that the view of the Taj Mahal is not spoiled, the ASI official said.
