A 48-year-old woman named Catherine – who also goes by Wendy, was last seen near the New Sudbury Conservation Area on May 1.
In a surveillance video taken around 4 p.m. that day, she was seen wearing blue jeans, a grey hoody, a black and white windbreaker-style jacket and brown leather boots.
"This afternoon (May 31), members of patrol operations, criminal investigations, search and rescue, emergency response, K9 and North Shore Search and Rescue will be conducting a ground search in the wooded area off Madeleine Avenue, Lasalle Boulevard and Arthur Street," Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news update.
"There will be an increased police presence in the area while officers and volunteers with North Shore Search and Rescue are on scene."
Catherine "Wendy" is described as being 5-foot-3 inches tall, 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
