A good Samaritan was captured on video using his garden hose to try and help extinguish his neighbor’s massive two three-alarm fire burning through the roof of a five-story Soho building early Thursday morning.
Firefighters battling the blaze received a helping hand from the neighbor, who ended his garden hose to the cause. Video taken by ABC News’ NewsCopter 7 shows the man standing on a neighboring rooftop spraying the fire at 463 Broome Street.
The FDNY received a call about the blaze around 6:39 a.m., and by 8 a.m. the fire was under control, officials told The Post.
More than an hour after the blaze broke out, other neighbors could be seen in the chopper footage handing buckets of water to the man to try and put out the flames.
Thirty-three units consisting of 138 firefighters responded to the blaze, which could be seen in video poking out of the five-story building’s roof.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
