Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese announced that he will present the restored version of the Malayalam film, Kummatty. The film was directed by G Aravindan.
Director G Aravindan's Malayalam cult-classic Kummatty impressed Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese. The legendary filmmaker announced that he will present the restored version of Kummatty in The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room. Ranveer Singh took to Martin Scorsese's comments section and shared a heart emoji. Malayalis are proud of this honour and thanked Martin for choosing Kummatty.
Malayalam film Kummatty was made by G Aravindan in 1979. The film featured Ambalappuzha Ravunni, Ashok Unnikrishnan, Kottara Gopalakrisnan Nair and Kuttyedathi Vilasini.
On July 11, Martin Scorsese took to Instagram to announce that he would present Kuttty 's restored version. He wrote, "Today, Monday, July 11, KUMMATTY (India, 1979, d. Aravindan Govindan) will be presented in The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room. Tune in at 7:00pm BST/ET/PT for the screening accompanied by a live chat. The film will also be available on demand at 7:00pm local time (sic)."
